What do you mean by slewed around? A pattern has to be cut with the
fabric
selvedges in the right orientation. If you rotate a pattern piece to fit
the fabric you have then you aren't cutting on the bias and the skirt will
not hang properly. A bias skirt inevitably means buying a larger piece of
fabric than a non-bias one and having a lot of unused fabric because of
the
cutting orientation.
