Hi! I'm back online after a month of embroidery! The slip-cover of my
cu****on is ready to be made up. I've embroidered a circle of poppies on
one side, and a few scattered buds on the other side. Now, I've been
reading up on attaching zippers. Is it right to do it the following
way?
1. Place right sides of the fabrics together. Baste the edge where the
zipper is going to be put in.
2. Turn the fabric so that the right side is facing the top. Place the
closed zipper face downwards.
3. Pin it in place. Baste it.
4. Sew it in carefully.
5. Open the zipper. Remove all the basting stitches.
6. Sew together the other three sides of the cover on the wrong side
and finally turn it inside out and put the cu****on in.
Wow! That looks like one of the procedures from my lab! But, is this
correct? Will it work?
Another thing. My cu****on is 18 inches on each side of the square. I've
got a 16 inch zipper. Will this be enough or will I have to have a
fight with the cu****on every time I remove it from its cover? If I were
to use an 18 inch zipper, how do I do the tricky bits in the corner?
Thank you.
