Fast Electrics - Newcomer questions!

by stobby256 <stobby256.3dbka1@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jul 29, 2008 at 10:17 AM

Hi All,
Im almost new to fast RC boats, but I'm exprenced in constructional
techniques as I've built RC aircraft in the past.

My questions are...

I have a fibreglass hull, around 820mm long and intend to build
something into it.. as I say I'm capable but quetions remain!

1) It weighs around 1.5kg without any running gear, battery or radio or
decking fitted, so my all up weight icuding a 12V pack, servo, ESC, 2 x
motors.. is going over 3kg. Is that now too heavy?

2) I can build one from scratch from some plans downloaded from here,
but whats the fini****ng technique, build from Balsa/ply etc then glass
fibre the hull?

3) Where should the centre of gravity be?

Any input much appreciated!

Stobby
