If you need Tips for X-Mas RC gifts - here's your guide

by "Lee444" <leebrain@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Dec 12, 2006 at 07:53 PM

Hey everyone,

I've been browsing these forums and seeing that a lot of people are
confused about what to get for x-mas RC wise. Here's your complete
guide to x-mas shopping this year. First of all, I suggest you read
this rc hobby shop review - you'll find some good information on where
to get good quality rc cars for the right price.

The ONE thing that people ALWAYS mess up on when getting an rc car is
NOT going with a package deal. You'll see people post saying they paid
$300 for their RC car, but after they get their accessories and parts
etc, the total comes to $500+. Getting a package deal is what you want.

It has everything you need - fuel, fuel bottle, wrench, cleaner,
batteries, battery charger, the vehicle and the R/C transmitter. Some
places even offer free ****pping.

ELECTRIC CARS AND TRUCKS

Next, what are you looking for? If you're looking for something that's
fun, cheap and just for the 'kids' so to speak - go with an electric rc

car. My recommendations are the HPI's sprint 2 series or the Traxxas
Rustler. If you're looking for an electric RC truck try the Traxxas E
Maxx or the Traxxas Stampede (comes in nitro and electric). I would
take Stampede over E Maxx though.

NITRO CARS AND TRUCKS

Alright, so if you're looking for something with more power and
functionality - go nitro. I've been seeing people talk about good drift

cars, etc. I recommend going with the HPI RS4 or Traxxas Nitro 4-tec
for drifting purposes. Either those, or any sort of Tamiya drift car.
They're also good for drag racing, the nitro 4-tec goes like 75 MPH.

If you want to go off-road - a nitro truck is what you want. I HIGHLY
recommend the Traxxas Revo or HPI Savage X - these are probably the
best RC trucks you can get for the price they come in. If you're
looking for ALL PURPOSE vehicle, the Traxxas Jato is what you want
because it's made for on-road AND off-road - and it also goes 65 MPH.

Anyway, there are many rc cars out there - if you want to keep it
simple - go with HPI sprint 2 series or Traxxas Nitro 4-Tec - anyone
will love these.
