Toy RC for robot?

by wibblesnospam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] May 23, 2006 at 06:07 AM

I have been given an older robot (called a Scooter 2000 - stands about
60cm tall!) that appears to have a non-working RC. I had a walkietalkie
set on the same band that makes noises in the robot when its turned
on/press to talk is used so I assume the robot receiver is working. Is
it possible to use any 27.145Mhz controller to control this?
The options available with the remote were voice - ie it has a mic that
the kids can talk into and it comes out the robot speaker! plus
fwd/turn controls.
Anybody have any ideas if this will be practical to use a s/hand plane
transmitter maybe with the right frequency crystal?
Thanks in advance
Andy,
Australia
