OK Jim,
I'm using Alpha 8.5 Version but previous ones worked just the same.
1_ Have your Tx ready, connected and "on".
2_ Select from the top line menu "controls", then "analog controls"
3_ From next screen, select PCI interface
4_ From next screen, select COMx (usually COM1) and baud (usual 19200)
5_ Validate and go to mapping/calibrate
6_ On this screen, you select the ch# to funtion, note that you have a
selection for airplanes and helis (move the sticks to find wich chan)
select reverse and exponential(recommended) as needed.
7_ Now go to "calibrate" and move both sticks in circles to establish
your sticks amplitudes (trims centered). After that, press "next" and
set the center positions. Now press "finish", then "validate" and you
will return to the first screen, press "validate" and you are done.

Don't forget that the throttle/pitch stick is normally centered to
enable inverted flying. You will get used to that very fast.

Good luck and if anything is not clear, repost for clarifications.
