The other thought I had was to find a similarly shaped building and make modifications accordingly. Maybe you could start with an O scale brick smokestack & adapt it to HO for instance. I'm also wondering how difficult it would be to lay something like this out in some kind of simple drawing program. It would also greatly depend on how much detail is needed for the entire project. A background model can take some liberties that a foreground model can't. Interesting project; please keep ius informed as to your progress... dlm
