old embroideries use and memory

by mirjam@[EMAIL PROTECTED] Jul 3, 2008 at 09:03 PM

I found my oldest self sewn ****rt, in 6th or 7th grade], which i also
embroidered , around the Boat neck and the front sides of the side
slits ,, i cut of the embroidered parts and used the unembroidered
parts for some smaller bags. At the time we sewed it materials were
scarce, and i sewed it from an old coarse linen sack. One embroidered
corner i gave to a good friend who is a fiberartist, hoping she will
incopr****ate it into one of her works, I still have one corner and the
neck opening embroidered parts which i will inco****ate into one of my
works ,,
I only had 3 basic colored threads at the time,,,
blue, red and yellow . i didn`t like to embroider the pattern given to
us thas i came up with form of embroidering each color one time in a
sort of an Mirror image of E with it`s back to the other E than change
color to the next pair , eventually this created a pattern were the
colors went diagonally ,,, it still looks pleasing to the eye now ,,
