I used to read this newsgroup several years ago and it was so full of OT
posts and had so many posts/day that I had to stop. One of the most
amusing
(to me) was whether "peeps" (candy) were better fresh or stale!! And there
was an expert who was violently against people licking their floss to
thread
their needles- that the saliva would in 100 years lead to deterioration of
the fabric. Anyone remember her name?...Saints preserve us!!
Anyway, a few days ago I decided to resub and was pleased to find I could
keep up and get enthusiastic about stitching again, (I have really become
rabid about crochet of all shapes & forms)
However today I logged in to find a humongous number of posts, and almost
all OT! :-(
I was sad to see an argument develop (with real rancor) between Mirjam
(hello!!!) and Lucretia Borgia (?) about religion/bible. And possibly
sides
developing, just like on the playground in grade school :-))
My point is: Number one, why didn't anyone change the title to
OT-religious
war, sooner than happened, which thank you to her/him who did eventually)
and two: this is why religion & politics are banned from dinner parties
(and
should/would be from newsgroups if they were moderated!!)
Just a note from an oldie/newbie!!
