OT: Gillians Progress

by lucretia borgia <lucretiaborgia@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Jun 21, 2008 at 12:35 AM

Here's a clip from the gypsy

"We are between Corning, NY and Watkins Glen, NY on the southern edge
of
the Finger Lakes area. Today we went around the Corning Glass museum,
and it was well worth the admission. It was so hard to believe that
some
of the items were really three thousand years old, and in pretty good
condition. Jim was extremely interested in the current applications
with
regards to optics etc.

I have a small collection of an American glassblowing artist, Josh
Simpson. His work has always intrigued me. Anyway, instead of buying a
junk souvenir, I added another piece to my collection The young lady
who
unlocked the case, and assisted me, told me that he was on the Board
of
Corning Glass, and visited there frequently.....would love to meet
him.
I think Jim bought me my first piece back in 1988.

We leave here on Wednesday, a quick overnight en route, and into
Hanscom
AFB, by Boston for several weeks. Fuel is so outrageous ( we use
diesel), so we are spending more funds on campgrounds, and sightseeing
with the Scion, and much less on moving the RV!"

So get ready you people in New England, she's a coming !
