Use ordinary polyester layup resin and fill it as much as you can with
slate powder, talc or china clay. Untill its stiff enough. You will
probably find it too slow without adding some cobalt accelerator,
presuming you are using MEKP as the catalyst. Commercial body fillers
(which is a polyester putty) use a different system to cobalt/mekp
so that the catalyst they supply can be overdosed without any problem.
But the above works fine using 1 to 2 % mekp. Dont forget that ratio
is to the resin in the filler not the filler total.
