Not a DVD, and not about wire rope, but Gleistein has a pdf on splicing
that
gets to at least 8-strand rope at

I would also recommend a book: Brion Toss: "Complete Riggers Apprentice".
It
covers a good number of wire and rope splices, and most of all explains
some of the reasons behind the instructions. It also covers a lot of other
ground, that I found interesting.
