A save your life knot

by "RMS" <root-mean-square@[EMAIL PROTECTED] > Mar 20, 2007 at 01:09 AM

Some time back I remember reading about a knot that one should learn to
tie in case one fell off a boat.
It was a situation where a line was trailing behind the boat and the
person who fell off was able to grab the rope but was only able to tie a
knot with one hand because he was using the other hand to hold onto the
back of the boat somehow. Or maybe it was because of the pressure of the
water going by, he wasn't able to use both hands.

Would this be a one-handed bowline? Or some other one-handed knot?

TIA
RMS
