Am just stepping in to ask a question... especially after reading a
bunch of posts. Seems I'm in the right place! :-)
First off, I'm a total novice. I know maybe 5 knots by name? But, I've
been learning a bit more, from a knot book I bought.
Here's the problem: The book is by type (knot,hitch,etc) then by knot
name (non-alphabetically). The other knot books I saw on the shelf are
arranged similarly. Any recommendations for a book, or even a website,
that works in reverse: namely, what do you want to tie, THEN give the
knots? Or even similar, like "working on boats" then "2 stick tying"
then "the great outdoors (trees, tents, etc). It's just getting so
frustrating trying to find a knot by type then name and THEN being told
where to use it!
