Carl recently responded to Dell Winders, saying:
"Actually, these challenges are Really Good Ways of exposing bogus claims.
If a metal detector can't detect a big ol' gold bar laying on the ground
right in front of it, it probably won't detect buried gold 100 feet away,
either.
These challenges are Good Entertainment, too, watching the True Believers
and other "proponents" deny everything they say they can do, when someone
simply says, "Show Me." "
Dell Winders, Tim Williams and several other dowsing rod scam artists have
stated rather emphatically that what they are selling is nothing more than
a rip-off. How did they make that statement? By ignoring the money and
cash prizes others have put up for nothing more than a demonstration of
how a dowsing rod can reliably find treasure (gold) at a rate that is
better than mere guessing.
Dell constantly cries the blues that he took part in a test with James
Randi, and that Randi refused to pay him the money after he passed the
test. The Truth is... Dell didn't pass the test, and couldn't produce
results better than *chance* guessing. Otherwise, he would have the money
in his bank account right now, instead of it being with Randi.
So, Dell, if Randi ripped you off, why don't you take Carl's $25,000 ???
That money would spend just as good as Randi's money. You and Tim are
afraid to go for Carl's money, because you already know "simple guessing"
won't get it for you, and your dowsing junk just won't do anything better
than what guessing will do.
That's the same reason Vincent Blanes (Ranger-Tell) won't go for Carl's
money... because he already knows "guessing" will not win the prize.
And what about ordinary "users" going for the $25,000??? Why do you
suppose Mike Healey, or Art Flowers, or Dave Peterson, or Jim Peterson or
Steve White don't go for the prize money? The answer is simple, they
already know that "guessing" won't win it for them, and their dowsing is
nothing more than guessing.

Dowsing Scam Artists can be told.
